Nanette, I would say that by June El Pueblito will be at 75%-85%. The pools are open, the beach looks great, the food was varied and decent. They expanded their lobby, are building a lounge/bar and putting in new offices.

The far ends of the resort is still under heavy construction as they were the most heavily damaged (but its blocked off by fences) but for comparison remember that very few of the places south of El Pueblito even attempted to open yet.

I don’t know if you’ve ever stayed there but I go for the great layout, the number of pools and nice beach. Its one of the few economical/basic lodging options on the beach in that part of the strip so you have to consider that. Good luck!

Suzanne, We are also staying at the El Pueblito during June… Just wondering how it was? The picture from February looks pretty dismal and I’m worried.

Any information would be so appreciated.

Thanks for all the great information. Due to info on this site we decided to take our vacation last week and enjoyed a less crowded holiday week at El Pueblito.

FYI that we left on Saturday and the second round of beach dredging had been completed in front of El Pueblito more than doubling the beach size. They were moving South and are probably in front of the Solaris today.

The locals said they are basically retracing the steps from the first dredging.

With regards to the “wall”, they were plowing over it, but didn’t see anything specific being done to avoid it.

So do they plan on going all the way back up the beach to the top of the island? Or is it going to just be south, where the sand didn’t settle? If they do head back up north, how long is that supposed to take?
